Playa San Juan Beach

Playa San Juan is definitely the best beach in Alicante. The soft, golden sandy beach is almost 7 kilometers long and turns into the beach of Muchavista. On the boulevard, parallel to the water, there are numerous restaurants and bars. Also on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th line of the beach you will find many shops, banks and restaurants. On the beach itself you will find various services and facilities, and this beach is also accessible for the physically handicapped.

San Juan Beach is a paradise of fine sands and clear waters. It is the best known beach in Alicante and very appreciated by Alicante residents, who enjoy it all year round. The beach of San Juan catches you and falls in love with you in equal parts so, if you come once, you will repeat. This huge sandy beach stretches from the beaches of El Campello to Cabo de las Huertas.

San Juan Beach is open and allows you to enjoy in an incredible way the sea, the sand and the games and complementary leisure services it offers.

San Juan Beach has areas for the practice of different sports, beach volleyball courts, mini football goals, and of course, spaces for the practice of nautical sports such as wind surf. All along the beach there is a promenade that is also used by lovers of running that allows you to run by the sea. You have biosaludable devices to complete your training. And the children enjoy it because on the sand they have fun children’s games, slides, swings and booths to complete their beach experience. There are hammocks and umbrellas and if you feel like it, you can rent skates to get into the sea.

During the summer period San Juan Beach installs a tent that houses a play area for the mentally handicapped and has a point accessible to the physically handicapped.

The beach environment is an area of apartments with a multitude of services and shops where you will find crafts, beachwear, games, accessories and everything you imagine for your experience on the beach. On the extensive walk they settle down places where to eat, to drink and to snack something. Playa del Postiquet

Playa del Postiguet is a very touristy and busy beach just a stone’s throw away from the Old Quarter. The beach is easy to reach, and there are also several recreational areas. In the summer, Playa de Postiguet has a service that provides swimming assistance for the physically handicapped.

This 900m long beach is right in the centre of Alicante. Positioned at the foot of Mount Benecantil upon which the Castillo de Santa Barbara looms and next door to the Marina this beach is the most conveniently situated of all beaches around the magnificent city of Alicante.

It is easy to get to, there is an underground car parking facility opposite the Hotel Sol Melia (where we always park) and this beach is well serviced by the buses (02, 05, 21 and 22) and the tram which stops right by the beach.

La Albufereta Beach

La Albufereta is a small beach that is also very popular among locals. There are children’s playgrounds, sports fields and chiringuitos (beach bars), and this beach is also accessible for the physically handicapped. Few people know that this is the place where Alicante originated. This area is of great archaeological importance. If you want to know more about the origins of Alicante you can visit the Yacimiento Arqueológico Lucentum (the archaeological excavation).

Cabo de Huertas

In the bays of Cabo de Huertas you will find crystal clear water and pebble beaches. It is very quiet, and it is a popular place for nudists. These bays are also the best places if you want to dive.

El Saladar-Urbanova beach

The quiet El Saladar-Urbanova beach is just 5 kilometres south of the city centre. Not far from here is Playa de Agua Amarga, a small beach where dogs are allowed, so you can go swimming with your four-legged friend.
